Stay up to date on all things esports, game design, and education. Tips and Tricks on Blocksmith and more!

The idea of the Metaverse is gaining traction very quickly. Schools are looking for ways to teach their students about it. If you're looking for ways to get started with the metaverse in your school, you've come to the right place. In this blog post, we'll discuss some of the basics of metaverse creation and show you how to create an interactive scene for students.

To create Metaverse experiences, students need to learn two things.

3D Scene Creation

A 3D scene is the backdrop of every metaverse experience. It is an environment that can be explored and interacted with using 3D models.

There are many different ways to create 3D scenes. One popular approach is to use virtual reality (VR) tools such as Unity or Unreal Engine. These tools allow you to create highly detailed and realistic environments.

Another approach is to use less-complex tools such as Blocksmith. These tools are more user-friendly and require less technical expertise.

Once you've decided on the tool you want to use, it's time to start creating your scene. When creating a scene for metaverse education, there are a few things you'll need to keep in mind.

First, you'll need to create models of the objects in your scene. In Blocksmith, we provide a set of primitive shapes that students can use to build their models from. It's an intuitive, lego-like approach to created 3D models quickly. It is also very easy to animate such models and to edit them, which lends itself to a collaborative classroom approach.

Second, you'll need to create interactive elements in your scene. This could be a quiz, game, or other type of activity that students can engage with. The goal is to make the learning experience more immersive and engaging. With our classroom optimized curriculum, students quickly learn basic and advanced methods to make their creation interactive.

Publishing

Once students have created an interactive 3D experience, it's time to publish it and make it available to their peers, parents and other creators. With Blocksmith Hubs, you have full control over the visibility of what your students create.

If you're using VR headsets, you can easily view Blocksmith experiences on devices like the Meta (Oculus) Quest, HTC Vive and even Google Cardboard.

But even on tablets and Chromebooks, the student creations work instantaneously and optimized for the device.
